Over the Fence

I couldn't resist taking pictures of this squash and pumpkin patch that was on the other side of the fence at our bed and breakfast on Monhegan Island.

Autumn Sleep

This is a watercolor painting by Marge Holtman.  She uses pen and ink with the watercolor to add depth and interest.  So beautiful!

Fine View to the River

This painting is from a small village in New York State on Wellesley Island called Fine View. It is a beautiful little village of victorian homes from the 1800's overlooking the St. Lawrence River. It was always a favorite place of mine to visit on our family vacations. It was so much fun doing this painting as it brought back many fond memories.

Heavenly

This church is in Charleston, South Carolina, a wonderful place for an artist to wander around.  It would be a nice place for the Artists on the Loose to visit together.  We all have such different perspectives, and that's what makes us so special to each other.

Day Dreams

This is one of my first paintings done in Encaustics. This is an ancient form of layering with wax applications between oil paint. This 12x12 board also includes some image transfers from found objects and papers. Different from the typical collage, the wax application allows the use of transfer of the images rather than using a medium to secure the papers to the board or canvas. I was happy to recieve a blue ribbon in my catagory at the Bald Knob Art Show now shown at the Westlake Library in Hardy, Va.
